Shure MX396/C-TRI Microflex Tri-Element Boundary Conference Microphone is a professional installed-sound microphone designed for conference rooms, boardrooms, meeting tables, training rooms, control rooms and other commercial AV applications. The MX396/C-TRI combines three cardioid condenser microphone elements in one low-profile boundary microphone, providing wide table coverage while reducing the number of individual microphones required in an installation.
The MX396/C-TRI features three individually controlled cardioid microphone elements with configurable coverage. Shure specifies the TRI version for 90°-0°-90° operation and it can be adjusted for approximately 120° / 120° / 120° coverage, making it suitable for center-of-table and multi-participant conference applications. Each microphone element has its own audio output for integration with professional mixers, DSP systems and installed AV equipment.
This Shure Microflex boundary microphone includes a programmable mute switch, bi-color red/green status indicator, and logic input/output for remote LED and mute control. These features make the MX396/C-TRI especially useful in permanently installed conferencing systems where microphone status and mute functions may need to communicate with an automatic mixer, DSP or room-control system.
The microphone uses professional electret condenser elements with a frequency response of approximately 50 Hz to 17 kHz, active balanced output, 170-ohm output impedance and a maximum SPL of approximately 122 dB. The TRI version requires phantom power and is designed for professional installed-audio environments.
The MX396/C-TRI also incorporates Shure CommShield RF filtering technology, helping reduce interference from portable wireless and mobile devices in conference-room environments. Its compact, low-profile design is intended for discreet permanent mounting on conference tables and other work surfaces.
