Shure MX405/C Microflex 5-Inch Cardioid Gooseneck Microphone with Surface Mount Preamp is a professional installed-sound microphone designed for conference rooms, boardrooms, podiums, lecterns, classrooms and other commercial AV applications.

The MX405/C features a flexible 5-inch gooseneck and a cardioid condenser capsule, providing focused speech pickup while helping reduce unwanted sound from behind the microphone. Its compact profile makes it ideal for permanent tabletop, podium and lectern installations where professional appearance and reliable speech reproduction are important.

This model includes the Shure MX400SMP surface-mount preamplifier, allowing the microphone to be securely installed through a conference table, podium or other flat surface. The MX405/C also features a logic-controlled red/green bi-color status indicator ring, supporting integration with compatible DSP systems, mixers and room-control equipment.
